Intrepid Learning Solutions Names Creighton as Board Chairman
Former Weyerhaeuser CEO to Support Leading Training Outsourcing Company; Sector Poised for Growth
Seattle, Washington – November 29, 2005 – Intrepid Learning Solutions, Inc., the foremost provider of innovative learning performance consulting, outsourcing and research services to global companies, today named Jack Creighton Chairman of its Board of Directors.
Former CEO and President of Weyerhaeuser Company, Creighton will rely upon his vast network, nationally and in the Pacific Northwest, to help support Intrepid’s rapid growth. Creighton, 73, has been a member of Intrepid’s Board for the past five years and has also recently served as Chairman and interim CEO of UAL (United Airlines) and Vice Chairman of Unocal.

Intrepid’s services include: learning strategy and analysis; curriculum design and development; instructor-led training delivery; vendor management; technology administration; and training evaluation, measurement, and reporting. Intrepid is the largest training outsourcing organization in the Pacific Northwest, employing 170 people.
Intrepid is well-positioned to continue its pattern of growth in the rapidly developing training outsourcing segment. IDC reports that training outsourcing will grow from 5 to 13 percent of total training services between now and 2009. Training Magazine reports the overall corporate training services market stood at $51.4 billion in 2004. Furthermore, the American Society of Training and Development reports that 41 percent of companies will explore some form of training outsourcing in the next two years.
Creighton served as Weyerhaeuser CEO from 1991 to 1996. He currently is a director of Saltchuck Resources Inc. and a strategic director at Madrona Venture Group. Creighton also serves on the boards of the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. He is Co-Chair of the World Trade Center in Seattle and is past Co-Chair of the State of Washington’s 2020 Commission on Post Secondary Education and the Washington State University Foundation. Creighton is a Trustee of the Ohio State University Foundation.
“We have made great strides as a company under the leadership of Hans Amell, our most recent Board Chairman,” said Hedrick. Creighton replaces Amell as Intrepid’s Board Chairman. Amell, who is also Founder and Chairman of Catalyst Acquisition Group, will continue to serve on Intrepid’s Board.
