Bryan Chapman
Chief Learning Strategist, Chapman Alliance, LLC
Bryan is Chief Learning Strategist at Chapman Alliance, LLC; a provider of research-centric consulting solutions that assist organizations in defining, operating and optimizing their strategic learning initiatives. As a veteran in the industry, Bryan has over 20 years experience and has worked with such organizations as American Express, Shell, Kodak, Sprint, Sharp Electronics, Honda, IBM, Microsoft, Avon, UNICEF, The Food and Drug Administration, U.S. State Department, and many others, to help them optimize learning efficiency through the use of innovative learning techniques and technologies.
Bryan was formerly the Director of Research and Strategy for independent research and consulting firm Brandon Hall Research, where he served as the primary author and researcher on high profile projects and was responsible for structuring Brandon Hall Research’s consulting practice. Prior to joining Brandon Hall Research, Bryan brought emerging enterprise learning technologies to the learning community during his tenure with Avaltus and with Allen Communication.
Mike Flanagan
CEO, School and Student Services at NAIS
Mike is CEO of SSS, which offers private K-12 schools a combination of software and professional services that make it easy for parents to apply for financial aid, and for school administrators to manage the process. SSS is part of the National Association of Independent Schools, a membership organization that represents approximately 1,400 independent schools and associations in the United States.
A co-founder of Intrepid Learning Solutions, Mike was most recently an Executive Vice President with Intrepid, responsible for leading the delivery of learning services to Intrepid clients, including consulting, instructional design, media production, instructor led-delivery, and project management.
Mike holds a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and a master’s degree from the University of Washington. He has an extensive background in education, curricula design, and applied linguistics.
Ernie Kahane, Ph.D.
Director of Learning Strategy, EMC Corporation
Ernie Kahane is recognized as an organizational leader who creates and implements learning strategy that improves organizational performance and business results. He has received a national award for his work in aligning business goals with global training and in implementing development systems. He has focused expertise in learning theory, e-learning, and learning management systems.
Ernie has been a medical educator and held leading training and management consulting roles at Compaq and Digital Equipment Corporation. He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Policy Studies and Instructional Design from the University of Illinois. Ernie has authored a number of books and periodicals including “Certification: Business and Legal issues” in Evaluating Corporate Training. He has received ASTD best practice awards and is co-inventor of two patented consumer products.
Kevin Oakes
CEO & Co-Founder, The Institute for Corporate Productivity (i4cp)
Kevin is the CEO and co-founder of The Institute for Corporate Productivity (i4cp), the world’s largest private network of corporations focused on improving workforce productivity.
Kevin has been a leader in the human capital field for the last 15 years. Kevin serves as the Chairman of Jambok and is the CEO and founder of the Institute for Corporate Productivity (i4cp), the world’s largest vendor-free network of corporations focused on improving workforce productivity. Prior to founding i4cp, Kevin helped create SumTotal Systems, the world’s largest learning management system company, when he merged Click2learn with Docent.
Kevin was the 2006 Chair of the national American Society of Training & Development (ASTD) board of directors, and is a frequent keynoter and author in the human capital field.
Allison Rossett, Ph.D.
Professor of Educational Technology, San Diego State University
Allison is a long time Professor of Educational Technology at San Diego State University, is in the Training Magazine HRD Hall of Fame, was recently a member of the ASTD International Board of Directors, and was honored by selection as an ISPI Member-for-Life. She was also a recipient of ASTD’s 2002 recognition for lifelong contributions to workplace learning and performance and designated a 2008 LEGEND.
Allison is the author of four award-winning books, including Beyond the Podium: Delivering Training and Performance to a Digital World, First Things Fast: A Handbook for Performance Analysis, Training Needs Assessment and A Handbook of Job Aids. She also edited The ASTD E-Learning Handbook: Best Practices, Strategies, and Case Studies for an Emerging Field.
Allison has conducted research and regularly publishes articles on needs analysis, learner engagement, and persistence in online learning. Her client list includes IBM, HP, the Getty Conservation Institute, Fidelity Investments, Deloitte Consulting, BP, the IRS, Amgen, Royal Bank of Scotland, National Security Agency, Transportation Security Administration, and several workplace learning start-ups.
